Biographical Note
Dimitris Triantafyllou (b. in Thessaloniki, 1967) studied under a full scholarship, Physics and Mathematics (Hons) (BA Macalester College, St. Paul, Minnesota) and has a Core Degree in Asian philosophy (Macalester College) and a MSc in Physics (University of Minnesota ) . He continued his studies at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, MN. where he studied photography. He has attended two workshops given by the Swedish Master Photographer Anders Petersen, one in Thasos in 2004 and one in Kavala in 2006. He works as a freelancer in Photography and currently teaches photography courses (analogue and digital) at STEREOSIS Photo School, Thessaloniki. He is the principal photography instructor at the Art and Design Department of IVT AKMI, Thessaloniki. In the past he taught “Digital Editing” at IRIS visual center, Stavroupoli, Thessaloniki.
He is a founding member of the Redscale Group which dealt with photographic projects, and self-publications . He also conducts photography seminars and workshops (e.g. Expressive Photography, Photography as a Visual Tool, Personal Realities, The Grotesque in Photography, The Dusseldorf School of Photography “In search for Objectivity”, Photographic Digital Workflow, Mastering Light) throughout the year.
