Human Face, Heart of an Animal
Searching for a personal meaning, and a personal understanding. Searching for what photography means to me and how to use it effectively to record and to decipher myself and my surroundings in the context of time and space. For the past four years I’ve been working on the theme “Human Face, Heart of an Animal” which is based on an ancient Chinese proverb. It has to do with how we “look” at the world and the things that surround us and how we “look” at other human beings and eventually ourselves. I’ve tried to record through the medium of photography my own inner perception of these events at the time and then combined them and used them as building blocks to construct a profound personal world. A world made up of memories, shadowy feelings and longings. A world of expression which gave me a chance of bringing out to the light my inner darkness or maybe the other way around. I don’t know up to this day. One thing I am certain though. I feel lighter. Towards myself and towards others.
